Green-Lipped Mussel Oil

When I first heard about the product MOXXOR, which contains a powerful omega-3 and antioxidant formulation, I was a little surprised to hear that the source of omega-3s was Green Lipped Mussel Oil. I had never heard of such a thing and was curious about what it was exactly and what it could do for me. So after doing some research I will let you in on what I discovered.

Irradiated Food

Recently the FDA announced that spinach and lettuce sold in the United States will be allowed to be irradiated. Knowing what irradiation is and does to food I was a bit angry but unfortunately not surprised by the decision. I've summarized some information about irradiation to provide an overview about the process and what it means to us and our food.

Good Business and MSG

In my last blog post I wrote about Moxxor, a dietary supplement company that states on it's website that it donates 10% of its net profits...and that got me to thinking... This company, Moxxor, offers a high quality unique supplement that not only provides a higher anti-inflammatory value than Fish Oil EPA but also a higher ORAC value than several super fruits. So this company, which offers a superb product to enrich the health of people and donates 10% of its net profits also has a foundation (MOXXOR Foundation) dedicated to humanitarian aid.

MOXXOR

If you currently take fish oil for it's anti-inflammatory properties you may want to check out a new product (MOXXOR) which contains greenlip mussel oil which has an anti-inflammatory value 158 times more effective than Fish Oil EPA.

How to Compost

Whether you are looking to help the earth, get some nutrient rich soil for your garden, or to simply reduce the amount of trash you send to the curb each week, composting is for you. I choose to compost because it makes sense to me to not throw items in the trash that don't really belong there, I don't want to fill our landfills with banana peals and orange rinds, which will quickly become soil in my backyard. Since composting is incredibly easy to do and requires virtually no time to make and maintain I suggest everyone start one to help reduce the destructive impact we have on the world.

The 11th Hour

I recently watched the documentary "The 11th Hour" a film that highlights the tremendous stress we have placed on the planet through our continual consumption and focus on economic growth with lack of regard for the natural world and our connection to it. The film indicates that we are at a breaking point and that a change in our treatment of our environment needs to happen now.

Clean Out Your Life

To be healthy it's really important to clean...and this means clearing out all the clutter that fills everything from your intestines to your kitchen cabinets. Clutter in our minds, bodies, homes, cars, spirits, and everywhere else you can imagine slows us, weights us, and many times traps us. It's good to take the time to clear out all areas of your life.

Using a Food Journal

Recently I began using a food journal to keep track of what I eat and drink on a daily basis. For my food journal I simply have a spiral bound notebook in which I write the date down on each page and then write what I eat for meals and snacks. If I have juice I also write it down (I don't really drink any other beverages besides water).

The Colon Cleanse

I recently wrote about fasting, which I did in conjunction with a colon cleansing program. For my cleanse I used the Blessed Herbs “The Colon Cleansing Kit”. This was my first experience with any type of colon cleansing so besides what information I read on the Internet I really didn't know what to expect physically or emotionally.

Mission Completed!

The mission to abstain from the use of our vehicles for an entire month has been completed! For the entire month of July we biked, walked, rollerbladed, ran, and on the rare occasion carpooled every where we went. Whether we were getting groceries, going to the beach, or going out to dinner we found another way to get there than using our vehicles.
