To be healthy it's really important to clean...and this means clearing out all the clutter that fills everything from your intestines to your kitchen cabinets. Clutter in our minds, bodies, homes, cars, spirits, and everywhere else you can imagine slows us, weights us, and many times traps us. It's good to take the time to clear out all areas of your life.
Cleaning your body through cleansing and fasting is very important as it provides your body with a chance to rest and repair itself. The cleaner your body is the more smoothly it operates, the easier time it has taking nutrients from food, the younger you look, and the easier it is to lose weight. As I have said before the benefits of cleansing your body are countless and it's a vital part of staying healthy.
Cleaning your mind of sadness, guilt, anger, resentment, envy, dissatisfaction, the past, and all other negative aspects is also equally important. The mind and body are connected and even if you eat incredibly healthy, an unhealthy weighted and cluttered mind can result in illness. Let go of the past and operate in the now. Let go of anger and envy and instead choose love and understanding. Be happy and grateful for what you have and stop consuming yourself with thoughts for the future. Some great authors for help clearing your mind and living in the now are Dan Millman and Wayne Dyer. They both have tons of books and audios to choose from and there is also a movie called "Peaceful Warrior" that is based off of a Dan Millman book that is incredibly inspiring and helpful for gaining a now perspective.
Finally getting rid of attachments to material objects and clearing out your living space can help you achieve a healthier life. If you have items you haven't used for years ask yourself why you still have them. Are you attached to them because of the person who gave them to you, the time you received them in your life, or the value you perceive them to have? Getting rid of personal items can seem like an easy task at first glance but when it comes down to getting rid of many things the emotional attachment to items becomes apparent. After many years of accumulating items I have been on a continual cleaning processes where every month I reevaluate the items I have and the purpose they serve. By doing this I have come to realize that I don't miss the things I get rid of and don't need a lot of the things I have.
