It's likely that you've heard of the green smoothie before but you might be wondering "What exactly is a green smoothie and how does it taste?". First off there isn't really one green smoothie recipe out there, more like thousands. The term green smoothie basically means that you are making a healthy smoothie with fruits and vegetable greens. Yep, it's that simple. Also, green smoothies taste awesome, you just have to find the variation you like best.
What you put in your green smoothie depends on what kinds of fruits and vegetables you like best. In my opinion a green smoothie shouldn't contain milk, at least most definitely not regular cow milk, so to make your smoothie drinkable add water to it (you can also use freshly made juice).
If you are new to eating leafy greens and drinking green smoothies you might want to experiment with less bitter tasting greens like iceberg and romaine lettuce, followed by spinach and more flavorful greens.
A note on blenders: If you don't have a ultra mega super duper high speed blender don't fret. You can easily make awesome smoothies with a cheap $15 blender, just add the water first and then blend each ingredient in one at a time.
